Netherlands Travel - Zuid Holland (South Holland) Province

Zuid-Holland (South Holland) is the Netherlands' most densely populated province, which includes a series of towns and cities that collectively form the Randstad (literally, "Rim-Town"). However, each town has maintained a distinct identity, and excellent urban planning has mostly prevented this from becoming an amorphous conurbation.

This province was created when Holland was formally partitioned in 1840. The province contains the islands of Voorne-Putten, Goeree-Overflakkee, Ijsselmonde, and Beijerland-HoekseWaard in addition to the Dutch mainland. The Hague serves as both the province's capital and the location of the Dutch government and parliament. The province has played a significant role in Dutch politics since the Middle Ages. Numerous coastal resorts, historic villages, and sandy beaches can be found in the area.

So through this series of articles, I intend to share our stories and experiences of traveling across the Zuid-Holland (South Holland) province of the Netherlands with our fellow photography and travel enthusiasts. I hope they help you plan your travels across this beautiful province!
