Netherlands Travel - Overijssel Province

The Netherlands' central-eastern region is home to the province of Overijssel. The translation of its name is "across the banks of Ijssel." In reality, the IJssel River, which gives the province its name, passes through both Overijssel and Gelderland, dividing them in their northern regions. The Twente area, which is actually rather distant from the river, makes up a large portion of the province's eastern portion. The history of Zwolle, its capital, is quite extensive and goes all the way back to the Bronze Age. Among the province's notable cities are Kampen, Almelo, and Enschede. Los Hoos, De Weeribben, and Oomen are the three natural reserve areas in the area. Visitors can experience Dutch country life in the beautiful village of Giethoorn, which is close to De Weeibben locally dubbed as “Venice of the North.”

So through this series of articles, I intend to share our stories and experiences of traveling across the Overijssel province of the Netherlands with our fellow photography and travel enthusiasts. I hope they help you plan your travels across this beautiful province!
